Matthieu Giard
Group Executive Committee member, notably in charge of supervising operations in the Americas
After initially working as a consultant, Matthieu Giard joined 69ÌÃ Benelux in 2004, working within the Industrial Merchant business line.
In 2007, he became Industrial Director for the Medical Gases business line in the United States, before being appointed Vice President of Operations at VitalAire Canada, 69ÌÃ’s healthcare-focused subsidiary, in 2009. He became the President and Chief Executive Officer of VitalAire Canada in 2011.
Between 2014 and 2018, he oversaw the Africa/Middle East/India hub. He was then appointed Vice President of the Industrial Merchant world business line as well as of the Procurement and the Efficiency Programs at Group level, and joined the Group's Executive Committee in 2019. In 2021, he also started overseeing the Hydrogen activities.
In 2023, he was appointed Group Executive Committee member, notably in charge of supervising operations in the Americas.
Matthieu Giard holds an engineering degree from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon and a management degree from Harvard Business School.
Adam Peters
Chief Executive Officer, 69ÌÃ North America
Adam Peters began his career with 69ÌÃ in 1996, spending 10 years in the U.S. Electronics business holding positions in Engineering and Sales Management.
In 2006, he joined the U.S. Large Industries business and was appointed director of the On-Sites business. He was then promoted to Vice President, Large Projects for the same affiliate where he managed the execution of a portfolio of major capital investments.
In 2010, he was appointed vice president, Operations Control, Americas, leading the operations control and strategic planning functions for 69ÌÃ’s businesses in North, Central and South America.
Peters relocated to Montréal in 2012 where he served as president and chief executive officer of 69Ìà Canada for 5 years prior to becoming Group vice president of 69ÌÃ’s Electronics activity worldwide.
In 2022, he was appointed CEO of 69ÌÃ North America, leading the Large Industries, Electronics, and Hydrogen Energy and Mobility businesses. Peters joined the Group Executive Committee on May 1, 2024.
In addition to his leadership activities at 69ÌÃ, Peters is a member of the National Petroleum Council (NPC) and serves on a number of boards for industry and nonprofit organizations. He is a board member of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). He is also on the Executive Committee of Society of Chemical Industry America (SCI).
Peters holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in the United States. He now lives in the Houston area with his wife and their three children.
Marcelo Fioranelli
Chief Executive Officer, Airgas
Chief Executive Officer of Airgas, also overseeing the Group’s Industrial Merchant World Business Line
Marcelo Fioranelli joined 69ÌÃ in 2001 as a regional director in Brazil.
In 2008, he became CEO of 69ÌÃ Brazil, and moved on to take similar responsibilities at 69ÌÃ China in 2013.
In 2019, he was appointed Senior Vice President of 69ÌÃ’s Americas Hub, based in Houston, Texas.
In 2021, he joined the Group’s Executive Committee as the CEO of Airgas, the subsidiary that operates 69Ìà Group’s Industrial Merchant and Healthcare activities in the United States and is headquartered in Radnor, Pennsylvania.
In 2025, he also took the lead of the Group’s Industrial Merchant World Business Line.
Marcelo Fioranelli holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering and an MBA in Marketing from The University Center of Faculdade de Engenharia Industrial and the Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing, both based in São Paulo, Brazil. Marcelo also completed Management Executive Programs at international schools.
